The Nilgiris : Residents of Bhavani estate road belonging to Hulical Town Panchayat in Coonoor have demanded the Government to lay a separate road for access, as they risking their lives by using paths travelled by elephants.
"The road leading to Bhavani estate road belonging to Hulical town panchayat in Coonoor is in a pathetic state. The delay in laying the proposed new road has forced the school students to access riskier routes used by wild animals like elephants", allege the residents of Hulical.

The residents have to walk for about 7 to 14 km for medical treatment and bus services. Many times, the 108 ambulance also deny service to our area due to poor roads, they noted.
They have jointly urged the officials to look into the issue on priority and lay quality roads.
